Is this the end of traditional surgery?

Not long ago, we discussed how artificial intelligence would influence the future of medicine.

And today – Poland and Europe have witnessed the first remote surgery performed between two hospitals using a surgical robot.

On August 1, 2025, a historic milestone was reached in both Polish and global medicine: the first-ever remote surgical procedures between hospitals in Europe were successfully performed.

The procedure was carried out using the EDGE MP1000 robot, with a transmission delay of just 5 milliseconds.
– Prof. Piotr Suwalski (MSWiA) performed a heart surgery remotely from Gdańsk, while the patient was located in Warsaw.
– Dr. Paweł Wisz successfully conducted a remote prostatectomy.

This achievement is not only proof that physical distance can be overcome — it is also a powerful symbol of a new era in medicine, where human expertise and advanced technology work hand in hand for the benefit of the patient.

At Med-Invest Consulting, we understand that the same principles apply to effective healthcare investment processes, where success relies on:

1. Precision – in medical facility planning and design,

2. Meticulous planning – at every stage of the investment,

3. Full control – over timelines, budgets, and execution quality.
